Most nutrition guides marketed to women over 40 are targeted towards our insecurities with our changing bodies - the “meno-pouch” the “middle age spread” and using adjectives with negative connotations such as “sagging, bulging, bloated” and claim to help you “lose weight fast” or “balance your hormones” - both catchy and enticing for women who are struggling with the numerous changes our bodies experience with the natural fluctuations in hormones as we hit perimenopause.
